Sorry about my absense. Things have been really crazy lately! I’ll post as soon as things settle down!

I’m Just A Little…
Posted by V under breakfast, dinner, lunch, snack, work out | Tags: pizza, protein |[4] Comments
Hiiii! It’s Frrrrriday! Woot woot! And yay for me I worked the lunch shift today so I have the night off! Although I’m not partying or anything. Just straight chilling. Maybe moving a little. Eating some pizza. Maybe a Blue Moon.
But let’s start from the top! I woke up this morning still with some minor hand issues. Remember from Wednesday? Well it’s weird, on Wednesday it was mainly my pinkies that were puffy and sore… then yesterday they were fine but my left tumb and palm was puffy and sore… then this morning it had moved to both my ring fingers. But it’s weird because the mornings they are really stiff and sore, but as the day progresses they loosen up and by evening they are pretty much fine. I don’t get it.
Breakfast was lame-o. Sorry. We haven’t grocery shopped in ages due to the move. Light and Fit with 1/2 scoop pro and 2/3 cup All Bran. This will be the last day of this probably as there is NO MORE YOGURT and tomorrow is official moving day.
Workout this morning was just 30 minutes of cardio. I did intervals on the elliptical. Post-workout was the last remnants of oatmeal… maybe less than 1/3 of a cup? With some raisins and pecan bits from the lovely Pumpkin Spice trail mix.
I also had some protein powder mixed with a glass of ice water. I chugged it and forgot to take a picture. But here is the glass and the ice in the sink for evidence!
Work was fairly busy. I didn’t eat a single thing from 10:30 until 4:15 and didn’t even think about food. I was hungry, sure, but I didn’t have time to think about it. However, when I got home I was ready to eat! The only thing I managed to scrounge up were the last three meatless meatballs in marinara along with 1/2 cup of brown rice.
It tasted good but it wasn’t filling. But I had just the cure for that! A nice little nappy-poo! I kind of dozed on the couch for about an hour and a half. It was great. I love naps right after work. They feel amazing.
I woke up to Brian texting me about what to do for dinner. Great question.
Obvi we were eating out or ordering due to the current living sitch. I was in the mood for Thai Beer (my fave local thai joint) and Brian wanted Padington’s Pizza again. We decided on pizza since we could pick it up and it’s right up the street as opposed to Thai Beer being way across town.
I ordered a large (last time we got a medium and we had more than enough, but today I wanted leftovers to last us for tomorrow so we wouldn’t have to worry about lunch or snacks) half Gold Digger (Hawaiian) and half Humdinger (salami, pepperoni, olives, mushroom, lean beef).
I enjoyed a Blue Moon (with orange squeezed inside so I wouldn’t have to use a glass since they were all packed away) while I waited for it to be ready.
Do you see the state of disarray in the background? Basically I stopped cleaning once we found our new place and the past couple days nothing has been being put away… in fact, things have been being pulled out, bagged, boxed, etc. It’s so messy it makes me cringe, but yet at the same time it’s refreshing to not be OCD over the house for once!
When I placed the pizza order, they told me it would be ready at 7:30. So I got there at 7:30 and they said another 15 minutes. Sooooooo… I decided to go up the next block to WinCo while I waited and hit up the bulk bins for dessert later on!
Anyway, the pizza was good. The Humdinger was pretty great! And of course Hawaiian never disappoints.
Here’s a pic of the pie… I forgot to take one right away so as you can see, we’d already dug in.
If you like thin crust pizza (Isabelle) then this is the pizza for you. It’s crispy, not doughy, not overly bready… unfortunately for me, I prefer pziza that has thick, mushy, doughy and bready crust!
Dessert!
Thank GOODNESS I made that WinCo run! Otherwise I’d be going crazy right now and I’d have that really restless, angsty feeling that I get when I don’t have sweets available.
I told you.
I have a problem.
Now I’m enjoying acuppa Sleepytime and watching TV.
What a wild Friday night, huh?! I’m sure I’ll go to bed early because tomorrow’s going to be a looooong day of moving!

Even though I dislike football, I still get a little excited when my alma matter does good. Did anyone watch the OSU-USC game? I didn’t until Brian burst in the door and demanded requested that I turn it to ESPN. The game was almost over and I looked at the score and got super excited! And they won! Wheeee!
So I ended up napping AND taking a carload over to the new pad! Yay me! AND I even gave the doggies a bath tonight!
My nap was glorious. It totaled about an hour and half of which was that really wonderful coma-like state where you’re kind of asleep, but awake enough to realize how comfy you are and how good it feels! Do you know what I mean? It’s pretty awesome.
I ended up getting up around 6 because my stomache was growling and I was thirs-TY! There was NOTHING I felt like eating, so I picked some more at that Hawaiian Blueberry loaf which has YET TO TURN BAD. It wasn’t very good. Of course. What did I expect? No picture because it was truly just half-assed picking and half-assed eating.
At that point I got into productive mode and moved some stuff over to the new place. It’s up THREE flights of stairs. That’s NOT going to be fun to move the big stuff later on.
Dinner tonight was fairly lame. I’m really trying to eat up whatever I can from the fridge so I just ate leftover lentil stew that was also just sitting around from last week. I put the last dollop of FF sour cream on it.
I also snacked on the last crumbs of tortilla chips. This was the best part of my dinner.
Dessert was more Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix.
Sara left me a comment saying that she went on a quest for Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix and couldn’t find it!What a bummer! So I feel I should let you know that I found it on an end cap with some other seasonal products rather than the regular Archer Farms trail mix section! I hope I didn’t lead too many astray!
I’m now enjoying some sleepytime tea and am watching The Office WHICH I unfortunately missed part of because I forgot to set the DVR! Ugh!
G’Night!

Helloooo!
How are you all doing today?! Breakfast this morning was nothing to write home about. Light and Fit with 1/2 scoop pro and 2/3 cup All Bran.
Today I lifted legs… that took about 35+ minutes. I incorporated Smith Machine split squats in my workout today and those KICK MY HEINIE EVERY TIME! And I only do them with 10 lb plates on each side! Seriously, by the end of three sets I’m sweating! After wards I did 20 minutes of uphill power walking.
Post workout meal was small, simple and boring (because I had something special for lunch planned and wanted to save a little hunger for it!)… 1 scoop protein powder in a shaker of ice and water.
I decided to visit Brian at work today and stopped at Pita Pit to pick us up some wraps! YUM. I LOVE the Pit and haven’t had it in ages. I used to get it all the time in college. It was on the same street that all the pubs and bars were and on any given weekend night around 2 a.m. there would be kids lined around the block ordering pitas! I only recently found out there was one downtown here and I’ve tried a few times (unsuccessfully) to find it. Today I didn’t give up and found it tucked away in a non-descript area!
I ordered the Local (turkey bacon avocado) and a Club for Brian (both on whole wheat). I LOVE turkey bacon avocado… seriously, any place I’ve ever gotten one at has NOT disappointed me! Today was no exception. It was soooo fab. It contained turkey (duh), bacon (duh), avo (duh), swiss, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pickle, olives, pepperocini, onion, mushroom and honey mustard.
Brian’s was pretty much the same except the meat was different. The Club had turkey, ham and bacon and I requested dijon horseradish sauce.
Mine was WAAAAYYY BETTER! Look at all the goodness in there-
I gave Brian a bite and he loved it so much that I decided to be nice and traded. So I ended up with the Club! It was still delish, of course. But as you can see, not early as decadant-
I was pretty full after eating my wrap and thought that surely, I would be full for hours and hours and probably not be hungry until tonight!
WRONG! Exactly three hours after my wrap I started to feel the rumblings of hunger. I drank some water thinking mabye I was just thirsty but that wasn’t the case. So I had a little meal, I kept the serving very small, of 1/2 a cup of brown rice with 3 meatless meatballs and marinara over the top. It took away my hunger but tasted so boring since it had to follow the tastiest wraps in the world!
Poor brown rice and veg meatballs!
I really, really, REALLY should be productive and start packing and organizing for the move (which will probably begin tomorrow) but I just don’t feel like it. But really, am I EVER going to feel like it? Should I bite the bullet and just do it? Or maybe should I have a little nappy nap and chill since I don’t work today and should take advantage of that? Or should I go to the gym for extra cardio? I feel like I should really utilize these last few days in which my neighbor is the health club that I work out at. But again, I just don’t feel like it! Haha, we will see what happens, I guess!
Terrific Thursday to you all!
September 25, 2008
Before commencing, I must announce that my weird digital/appendage issues seem to be dissipating! I’m not sure if it’s just the Advil, but it’s been several hours now since taking anything the wierdness seems to be kept at bay! Thanks for the concern regarding the weirdness… so sweet!
Anywho! I don’t know if I mentioned… but Brian and I found an apartment. We went and signed all the papers and picked up the keys today. I can’t say I’m very excited because I LOVE the place that we have right now.
Super bummed to have to leave. Our new pad is much smaller and totally generic. But also WAAAYYYY cheaper… so that’s helpful!
After signing and picking up our schtuff Brian and I went to get some lunch. It sounds like we’ve been eating out a lot lately, and we have. I just refuse to go to the grocery store and buy stuff when we ‘re just going to have to move it all in a few days! We decided on Thai food. We ordered an appetizer sampler platter and pad thai and shared. I (once again!) forgot my camara at home!!!! Partway through the meal I realized this: “DER! CAMARA PHONES!” However, my camara takes the WORST pictures. Luckily, Brian’s got a blackberry which has a pretty decent camara on it. So I snapped some subpar photographs.
Here’s the pad thai (after I had already taken a serving from it).
Here’s my plate with pad thai, a chicken satay and a spring roll (from the app platter). In addition to the food here, I also had an egg roll and another small serving of pad thai.
The app platter came with yummy sauces.
This afternoon I went to Grocery Outlet and Target. Like I mentioned, I’ll find any reason/excuse to go to Target. Today’s reason/excuse was that I needed nail polish remover. :) Sure, I could have gone the quarter of a mile to Wally World insteady of drive 15-20 minutes out of may way to Target… but of COURSE I’m going to go to Target instead!
On the way, I stopped for a tall Starbucks coffee with cream.
Yes, I’m wearing shorts. It’s no longer shorts-weather. Those days are long gone. However, I’m still clinging onto whatever summer remnants I can.
Bux also were giving away samples of their new hot chocolate.
It was GREAT! It tasted like hot dark chocolate. I LOVE dark chocolate!
When I got home, I saw a suspicious looking white cardboardy stem in the hallway. I knew what that meant. I walked straight to the bathroom and I KNEW IT!
Bad doggies!
I found some random stuff at Grocery Outlet. I wanted to pick up something that I could make for dinner without having to get a boatload of ingredients, so I found these weird noodley-pasta things and fake meatballs.
I threw it all together for dinner with some marinara sauce that we had in our cupboards. I also made some salad to go along with it. The salad contained romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, carrot, and pepper.
It was dressed with this (which is really good!):
Altogether:
A really good dinner! I’m sure you want to know how the noodles were… pretty not bad! They worked FABULOUSLY as a substitute for regular pasta. HOWEVER, it must be known that these noodles were… I guess a bit crunchy? There was definately bite to them. A rubbery bite. But not a bad one! Not a gross this-tastes-like-rubber-bands rubbery. A pleastant chewy-rubberyness, if you will! It was kind of fun to eat! I think these noodles would be bomb in a “low carb pad thai” dish… if you would like to attempt that. Maybe that’s in my future! Stay tuned!
Ya’ll know I had dessert tonight! While at Target I found THE MOST FABULOUS THING! Pumpkin spice flavored trail mix!!!!! OOHHHHHHH HOLLER!
It is SO good. I can’t even tell you how much I had… I just kept reaching for bites straight out of the bag. I’m sure I had a considerable amount! But oh oh oh yum!
Well, have a good night everyone! :)

Hello again! How goes it?
The strangest thing… I could not sleep well last night because my arms and hands felt really weird pressure in them… and then when I woke up, my hands were puffy and kinda swollen and hurt all the way up my forearms.
SO WEIRD! I could not make a fist with my left hand. After a considerable amount of whining and sniveling I took some ibuprofin and that helped IMMENSELY although there was still a bit of lingering pressure. I’ve been trying and trying to figure out what could have caused it but no dice!
This morning I was up super early (due to my hand issues) and was bummed to find that there was no more half and half. As you know, I’m a coffee drinker and I like it any which way, shape, or form. Howerver, when it comes to my morning cup, I don’t really feel like I can enjoy and savor it unless it has a splash of cream in it. No sugar, just cream please. So I went to Safeway to pick a carton up and happened to walk through the health food section. A new Greek Yogurt happened to catch my eye! I’d never seen it there before and decided to give it a whirl. I usually don’t get Greek yogurt due to how expensive it is but I decided today to get it to make my half and half run store run more worthwhile.
So for breakfast I had Voskos Greek Yogurt with All Bran in it.
The verdict: YUM! As you can see, I got 2%… but only because nonfat was not available. But for 23 grams of protein, I can justify 2%! I forgot how wonderful Greek yogurt is. I used to get TJ’s all the time… but alas, there is no TJ’s in my midst here
I love that it’s so thick that even when partially eaten, my spoon sticks straight up in it.
Does anyone take Probiotics? I take them daily and decided I’d include a picture in today’s post.
I sometimes have digestive issues and *ahem* irregularity issues and these probiotics work wonders. If you decide to give them a try, I urge you to get the good kind from the refrigerated section of a health food store (or health food section of a store). I’ve seen cheaper, non-refrigerated probiotics at like Wally World or Target and I’m skeptical of those.
Anyway! I did NOT feel like workout out this morning due to my weird appendage ailment, but the ibuprofin really, really helped so I went and did 30 minutes of intervals on the treadmill and then 15 minutes of abs. Normally, I would have done a leg workout today, but since I couldn’t make a fist I certainly wouldn’t have been able to hold on to weights or dumbells.
Post workout meal was LAME-O. 1/3 cup of oats cooked in 1 cup water, cinnamon, splenda, and 2 egg whites. BO-RING!
A while after my workout my hands and forearms started getting really sore and pressurized again (seriously, so strange!) so popped more ibuprofin and it, again, helped a ton. I hope it goes away completely soon because it seriously made it very difficult to sleep last night. SO uncomfortable.
Well, that’s it for now… I’ll be back later with lunch!
I hope you’re all having a FABOO humpday and are enjoying Fall!

Whew! Finally, here is Tuesday’s Eats!
Posted by V under breakfast, dinner, lunch, snack, work out | Tags: oats |[3] Comments
Heeyyyyyyy guys! What’s up!
My apologies for being M.I.A. yesterday! I seriously didn’t have a spare moment to blog!
This post is going to be a Yesterday’s-Eats-Recap and I’ll get to today in another posting!
Well, yesterday I worked a double at work and it was BUSY for once! Yay! It’s so strange how people all decide to come out or stay in collectively. Last week I was constantly being sent home early or told not to come in at all because it was dead and yesterday it was swamped.
Breakfast:
I woke up later than I should have and didn’t have any time to fuss around to make anything fun for breakie. So I just had (again) a Light and Fit yogurt with 1/2 scoop protein powder and 2/3 cup All Bran.
It was COLD yesterday morning! Officially time to break out Mia’s sweatshirt. Look, she hates it.
After I digested my breakfast, I went to the gym for a back and bicep workout. I followed it with a mere 20 minutes of rigorous cardio for the sake of time.
Post Workout:
I made the most deeeeelicious bowl of oats! White Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal! MMM! I cooked my usual 1/2 cup oats in 1.5 cups water. Added cinnamon and splenda. Stirred in 2 egg whites and dried cherries. Sprinkled the top with WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIPS!!!!
Oh my GOSH it was so good! I wish I had the time to savor it but I had to quickly get ready for work!
Lunch and Work Snack:
No picture… but I snagged about 3 or 4 ounces of clam chowder and 2 pieces of bread because I was STARVING and didn’t have time to eat a real snack since it was soooooo busy!
I had a break from 4 o’clock to 5 o’clock. I had a couple errands to run (post office, bank, etc) and ate a Pure Protein bar while running around.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE PURE PROTEIN! They pack so much protein in (and for not a lot of calories), are YUMMY, chewy and satisfying to eat, and keep you sustained for hours! These are pretty much the only bars I eat. There are others I like, but for over all nutrition value, I’ll take a Pure Protein any day! I ALWAYS have on in my purse. ALWAYS.
Dinner or After Work Snack or Munchies or whatever you want to call it:
My p.m. shift was SLAMMED. But awesome because time went by fast, I made lots of money, and I didn’t have time to even think about hunger! I got home pretty late… almost 10 o’clock. I had broughten home Brian his favorite Chicken Pear Pecan Salad from work. I took a shower while he ate it and he came into the bathroom when I was finishing up and stated, “I saved you some salad since you’re probably hungry.” I thought, “What a sweetie!”
But then I went to the kitchen to find this:
Thanks a lot for the scraps! LOL! Just kidding. I wasn’t planning on having any to begin with so it’s not like I was banking on it. It actually ended up being the perfect amout since it was so late and I didn’t want to eat a ton. I ate it with the last little nub of sourdough baguette from last week (no picture, sorry!) that was most likely stale… but tasted just fine after toasting!
After I ate I went to BED. I was EXHAUSTED from working two insanely busy shifts.
And that was yesterday!

September 22, 2008
This morning I did my fave workout: chest/shoulders/tri’s. Why is it my favorite? Because I think that anterior delt and medial delt exersizes are FUN. Also, this is where I see results. Unlike other areas of my bod that seem to remain stagnant. Pooey! Anyway, I also did 30 minutes of intervals on the treadmill and worked up quite a sweat sesh. Brian and I were at the gym together and when we were done he suggested we get lunch. So we went straight from the gym and therefore I didn’t have my purse and therefore don’t have pictures to show. So sorry!
We went to Sushi Kyo, which is one of those sushi-go-round places. LOVE THOSE PLACES! You can try a little bit of everything and this place in particular is super cheap. Holla! I found a new delish roll… a seaweed salad roll. YUM! I’m so bummed that I didn’t have my camara because sushi is one of the most picturesque foods there is!
After lunch, I spent all afternoon perusing the internet… looking for jobs, applying for jobs, researching companies, looking for jobs, fixing my resume… BORING stuff like that. And somehow, I managed to work up QUITE AN APPETITE!
Luckily, there’s delicious leftover pizza! (Brian finished off my leftover Mexican leftovers from Saturday night so those are long gone.)
There are three pieces pictured (two Hawaiian and one not-as-good-but-still-yummy-kind). I ate the two Hawaiian pieces and saved the other. While eating my pizza, I had a little mix-up… I reached for the chili flakes and grabbed cinnamon instead. I didn’t notice so the first slice of pizza I ate had a liberal sprinkling of cinnamon! You’d think it would taste awful, but it didn’t! I mean, I’m not gonna do it again or anything, but it *thankfully* didn’t ruin my slice!
I also decided to have a few veggies.
Notice the “Little Miss –” magnet? I love that thing. I got it at Targets “Dollar Spot.” Brian and I like to pick out each others moods and let one another know how they are acting!
And afterwards for some sweet I had a handful of another kind of “trail mix.”
Well, time to head to work now! This is the first Monday in ages that I haven’t been told NOT to come in!
See you tonight!
September 22, 2008
Happy first day of fall!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?!
I had a disasterous bowl of oatmeal this morning! It all started with us running low in the kitchen department which is for two reasons… we’re always running low and I don’t want to stock up because we’re moving soon.
I decided to have some oats with cookies and cream protein powder mixed in. And half a banana. It. Tasted. Awful.
So much so that I had to throw it out.
Does anyone have good luck with mixing protein into their oats? I know that cookies and cream was prob not the best flava to add… but I’ve still not had the best luck even using the ever-versatile vanilla. Any tips out there for me?
I ended up having a Light and Fit with 1/2 scoop protein and 2/3 cup All Bran Bran Buds. It tasted way better than the oats but I really wanted oatmeal this morning since it’s all chilly out!
Hope everyone had a better breakfast than I did and a pleasant Monday to follow!
